CANDICE CARRASCO, LMSW Co-Owner and Okemos Clinical Director
Candice Carrasco, LMSW specializes in the treatment of mood disorders, anxiety disorders, behavioral disorders, adjustment challenges and family issues. Working with children, adolescents and adults of all ages, Candice works primarily from a Cognitive Behavioral approach but also incorporates Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Mindfulness techniques. She has a special interest in working with the university population and understands the unique challenges facing students and faculty/staff. Pride is taken in offering client-centered, collaborative mental health care that is respectful of holistic and natural approaches to symptom relief.
Candice graduated with high honor from Michigan State University obtaining a BA in psychology. She continued her graduate studies in clinical social work at Michigan State University, again graduating with high honor and earning her Master's in Clinical Social Work in 2005. Candice has pursued additional post-graduate training in OCD treatment using Exposure and Response Prevention through the International OCD Foundation. Candice is the Clinical director of the Evolve Okemos location and her clinical work is based in Okemos.
KELLY RILEY, LMSW Co-Owner and Brighton Clinical Director
Kelly Riley, LMSW specializes in the treatment of trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder, mood disorders, ADD/ADHD challenges and family challenges. Working primarily with adolescents and adults, Kelly uses treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness techniques. Kelly works from an ecological, client-centered perspective.
As an Honor graduate with a BA in psychology from Michigan State University, Kelly continued her graduate studies in the Clinical Social Work program at Michigan State University. Kelly graduated with High Honor from her graduate program, earning her Master's in Clinical Social Work and a certificate in Clinical Social Work with Families in 2005. Kelly has taken great pride in furthering her post-graduate education in the field of trauma. She is Level I & Level II EMDR trained and she is a Certified Trauma Specialist from the National Institute of Trauma and Loss in Children (TLC). Kelly is the Clinical Director of the Evolve Brighton location and her clinical practice is based in Brighton.
SARAH CROWGEY, LMSW Therapist - Okemos
Sarah Crowgey, LMSW is a strength-based clinical social worker with a wealth of professional experience. She has worked with the child welfare system, community mental health organizations, and in-home mental health services. She works with clients and their families to explore past or current traumas, identify feelings and behaviors, develop attainable goals and assist in overcoming life stressors. Sarah shares her experience in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques and is able to provide support to those who have experienced sexual abuse, physical abuse, domestic violence and other traumatic life events. Sarah has experience working with a wide range of mental health diagnoses and uses her skills in assisting individuals with developing new coping mechanisms. At your first visit you can expect to meet with Sarah and begin building a therapeutic relationship, developing the goals and areas you wish to focus. Sarah pursued her graduate education at Michigan State University graduating in 2005.
ANGELA NIYONSENGA, LMSW Therapist - Brighton
Angela Niyonsenga, LMSW, specializes in treating adolescents facing a wide range of challenges that include trauma, mood disorders, behavioral disorders and relationship challenges. Angela brings years of experience in both direct clinical work with adolescents and their families as well as providing clinical supervision for other clinicians who serve the youth population.
Angela uses a strengths-based, client-centered approach and believes in addressing issues at both the individual and family level. Angela practices evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing to ensure her clients meet treatment goals.
Angela graduated Summa Cum Laude from Michigan State University, earning her Master's degree in Clinical Social Work with a focus on treating children and families.
Jennifer Flamont, LMSW Therapist - Brighton
Jennifer Flamont, LMSW specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders, mood disorders, behavioral disorders, adjustment disorders and trauma. Working primarily with adolescents and adults, Jennifer uses a Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) approach while incorporating strategies of Exposure and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) as appropriate. Jennifer has a special interest in mindfulness education as an evidence based intervention and life skill. She places a strong emphasis on client strengths, mind-body connection and the healing power of a strong therapeutic alliance. Jennifer takes pride in creating an environment of compassion and non-judgmental support for all clients. Jennifer received her BA in psychology from The University of Michigan and went on to attain a graduate degree in Clinical Social Work from Michigan State University, where she was a distinguished honor graduate. Jennifer has enthusiastically furthered her post-graduate education in many areas and has worked with diverse populations including those suffering from severe mental illness, addiction, terminal illness, age related issues, chronic pain, developmental disabilities and a wide range of mild to moderate mental health symptoms.
VALERIE MUNSON, LMSW Therapist - Brighton
Valerie Munson, LMSW, specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma, adjustment disorders, behavior and conduct issues, family challenges, and crisis intervention. She primarily works with children, adolescents, groups, and families. Valerie takes an ecological, client centered approach while utilizing CBT, DBT techniques, play therapy, brief solution focused therapy, and structural family therapy techniques.
Valerie received her BA in Psychology and Masters in Social Work from the University of Michigan. She has previous experience with multicultural populations in an intensive outpatient hospitalization setting. By collaborating with PCP’s, psychiatrists, and schools, Valerie provides not only direct care but also advocates for individuals to improve their skills and support system.
JAMIE SULTANA, LMSW Therapist - Brighton
Jamie Sultana, LMSW, specializes in treating adults facing challenges related to grief & loss, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, older adult issues, life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, chronic pain/physical health issues and trauma. Jamie incorporates mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy in her work with clients.
Jamie earned her Master’s degree in clinical social work from Eastern Michigan University in 2008. She has worked with diverse populations, including those with mild to moderate mental health issues, severe mental illness, addiction, aging adults, chronic pain, codependency and survivors of suicide.
Jamie strives to create a safe space, free of judgment, where clients feel comfortable, supported, and heard. She enjoys helping clients to identify and build on strengths, find hope, learn effective coping strategies, and discover solutions from within. She believes our struggles and setbacks are an opportunity for growth and learning.
KRYSTIN SANKEY, MS, LPC Therapist - Brighton
Krystin Sankey, MS, LPC specializes in working with young children, adolescents, and their families that have experienced trauma or stressful life experiences, mood disorders, ADD/ADHD, and other behavioral or family challenges.
With a compassionate, empathetic, structured yet flexible approach, she uses a combination of sensory based and cognitive behavioral interventions that are trauma-informed and individualized to best support clients' unique needs. She is trained in several evidence based models including Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Child Family Traumatic Stress Intervention (CFTSI), Motivational Interviewing, and Structured Sensory Interventions. She brings over 11 years of experience in both direct clinical work and supervision of other therapists working with children and families.
Krystin graduated with honors in 2005 from Central Michigan University with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. She continued her graduate studies at Indiana University-Bloomington and graduated with high honors in 2007 with a Master of Science Degree in Counseling.
